Songfacts®:

  • The first single from Blood, Lianne La Havas wrote the song with Adele collaborator Paul Epworth. The track is based around an instrumental recorded by London rock trio The Invisible.

The Invisible are fronted by Dave Okumu, who has also collaborated with Jessie Ware ("Devotion," "No to Love"), Paloma Faith ("It's the Not Knowing") and Kwabs ("Walk").
  • Lianne La Havas wrote the song to help to repair a relationship that she had ended. "It represents having a new phase of understanding in our relationship," she explained. "My ex-boyfriend showed me a lot about astronomy, so Paul (Epworth) and I wanted to find some way to relate galactic celestial speak to this love story to support its unconventional and multifaceted nature."
  • The song finds La Havas wishing she could get back together with her former boyfriend (who played bass in her band for two years). They did rekindle their relationship, but after a couple of months the pair realized they weren't in love any more.
