Songfacts®:

  • This is the third single from Lifehouse's fifth studio album, Smoke and Mirrors. The song was co-written by Lifehouse lead singer Jason Wade, singer-songwriter Kevin Rudolf and Lifehouse manager/producer Jude Cole.
  • Kevin Rudolf first came to the attention of many with his international hit single, "Let It Rock." The song's success led him to work with Kris Allen, Selena Gomez & the Scene and Cobra Starship amongst others. About.com's Bill Lamb asked Lifehouse bass player Bryce Soderberg how the band hooked up with Rudolf. He replied: "It was actually our producer Jude. He listened to that song 'Let It Rock' by Kevin Rudolf, and we all liked that song. He seemed like a guy that had this cool hybrid of pop and rock, and Jude e-mailed him and he responded right away. He said he would love to write a song. We got together and 'Halfway Gone' was born and 'Falling In.' They were written in the course of like half an hour each. He's just great."
