Songfacts®:

  • The late Lil Snupe provides the intro for Self Made Vol. 3, the third compilation album by Maybach Music Group. Snupe, who was Meek Mill's protege, was gunned down in June 2013 and recorded this feature shortly before his death. "He was one of the hottest young guys. I met him in his town [after doing a show]. I was on my way back to the plane and he knocked on the window with a demo, so I signed him, and he was special," Meek explained to MTV News. "But unfortunately he got caught in the streets and lost his life at an early age."

"I texted Snupe like 'Ross wants you on Self Made, this is your big shot right here. This was about five days before he passed away. And Ross is a real dude, he sticks to his word, so he still wanted Snupe to be part of the project he even though he passed away."
