Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Lil Wayne warning his haters to stop playing with him otherwise he'll create an "Uproar." Swizz Beatz and Avenue's uptempo beat is a recreation of G-Dep's 2001 single featuring P. Diddy.

"Special Delivery." Weezy previously rapped over G-Dep's tune on his Dedication 4 track "Green Ranger." He kicked off his verse on that song by dissing the beat:

I don’t even like this beat but f--k it
I'mma only spit a few bars coz I don't like this beat
  • The song spawned the viral #UproarChallenge that has fans dancing along to the track. Wayne kick started the challenge on September 30, 2018 with a tweet featuring him and his children rocking giant hats and showing off their moves as the song plays in the background.
  • Directed by Mills Miller, the song's music video is a celebratory affair. It features plenty of energetic dancing by family, friends, various dance crews and talented kids that pays tribute to the #UproarChallenge. Also featuring are Swizz Beatz and Instagram comedian Shiggy, who sparked off Drake's "#InMyFeelingsChallenge.
  • "Special Delivery" beatmaker EZ Elpee is not listed as a producer or composer on the official credits of "Uproar." Elpee told HipHopDX.com that though he doesn't necessarily need the royalties, he's still upset about not being properly credited. "We've all made a lot of money… life goes on," he said. "I just find it unusual that Wayne said that he hated the beat - on the beat - and now it's on his album."
  • Swiss Beatz intended this for his own album, Poison. However, it wasn't completed in time to make the final tracklist, so it ended up on The Carter V.
  • Lil Wayne opened the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards with a performance of "Uproar." He appeared later in the show as part of a 50th anniversary of hip-hop tribute. Wayne's "Kant Nobody" was nominated for Best Hip-Hop but lost to "Super Freaky Girl" by Nicki Minaj.
