Songfacts®:

  • This hard-hitting attack on racism with a seemingly innocent nursery rhyme tune started off as an attack on US President George W. Bush. Allen explained to The Sun January 30, 2009: "That song started about Bush but it's also about things like this (shows a photo on her Blackberry of neo-Nazi graffiti). That photo is exactly what that song is about. It was on a wall outside our tour bus. I was so pissed off. And I love to have that conflict of something sounding so sweet but actually being really quite dark."
  • The song has charted in some European countries under its original (and more radio-friendly) demo title "Guess Who Batman." The observant reader will have noted that the working title has the same initials as George W Bush.
  • Lily Allen joined Olivia Rodrigo during her 2022 set at Glastonbury to perform "F—k You." They repurposed the song to throw shade on the five US Supreme Court justices who a week previously voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. The original 1973 landmark decision ruled a state law that banned abortion was unconstitutional.

  • Sparky from London, United KingdomHilarious song from the lovely Miss Lily Allen. I like the unedited version but the edited version is just funny.
[Yes there are references to the former US president G.W. Bush]
  • Casey from Glendale, AzAt first I thought it was about anti-gay people as well, but then again being anti-gay is NOT being racist..lol.
  • Claudia from Weslaco, Txi love this song its really good and it gets a message across
  • Lily from Los Angeles, Caoh, well, i guess that's because neo-nazis (and bush) also hate gay people..ok..
  • Lilyibanez from Los Angeles, Cai thought this was also about anti-gay people, because she says "so you say, it's not okay to be gay, well i think you're just evil.."
  • Brady from New Prague, MnLol, this song is hilarious. She makes really good points in the lyrics too. Awesome.
  • Theresa from Murfreesboro, TnThis song is just perfect. Lily combines frank lyrics with a child-like sound. Amazing!
