Songfacts®:

  • "I'm In Love Again" was written by Linda Lewis and recorded for Fathoms Deep, her third album, released in 1973. It didn't get much attention, but somebody liked it, and that somebody was Stevie Wonder! In a March 2007 interview with a South of England radio station, she recalled how Wonder had serenaded her down the phone with it.

From the lyric, the song appears to be autobiographical, or at least to draw on personal experience. At that time, she lived a fairly free-spirited existence, including at one point in a commune based in Hampstead, North London. The track features Alan Sharpe on congas, and most noticeably the full spectrum of her extraordinary vocal range. >>>
