Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie, a studio album by Fleetwood Mac vocalists Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie.

McVie told Uncut the story behind this song, explaining it is more of "a make pretend love situation. It doesn't really exist."

"A lot of my songs I like that. I step into other people's shoes," she added. "That was one of the demos I sent to Lindsey and he reworked it. I trust him completely. He's one of the finest musicians you could ever hope to work with. He likes my ideas and we just get on really well."
  • Asked by Uncut how they went about working up the Big Love-like vocal effects on some of their songs such as this one, Buckingham replied:

"It's trying to take singing, and doing two things to it. On 'I Feel About You,' you're taking what might normally be an instrument or a set of instruments, a keyboard and you're choosing to approach it vocally. But then you're making it more artificial by breaking it into pieces. That was an idea that I probably got from looking at Picasso or something."
