Songfacts®:

  • This explosive track opens Linkin Park's The Hunting Party album. The record marked a return to the band's original harder rock-centric sounds. Frontman Mike Shinoda explained that the album's heavier-than-normal direction was a response to what he describes as the passive nature of new bands and an attempt to bring back the energy and soul of rock.

"I read a blog last year about music sucking right now and being really depressing, and I had to agree," he told Kerrang!. "There are bands like Mumford and Sons and Arcade Fire, who are both fine if you like that sort of thing, but then there are just hundreds of bands trying to be like them."
