  • During SXSW in March 2013, the actor and rapper Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) reached out and asked Lion Babe to open for him. The duo got a record deal with Interscope a few months later, and kept in touch with Glover who guests on this bouncy cut.
  • The song features Jillian Hervey's voice bounding around a snippet of a vinyl recording of Nina Simone's "Mr. Bojangles." Lion Babe producer Lucas Goodman came across the soul-jazz singer's interpretation of the Jerry Jeff walker penned song whilst interning at retro-minded Truth & Soul Records. "That's a rare record," he told Billboard magazine. "That song was never digitally reissued so the only way you were going to get it was if you bought the 45."
  • The song was originally released as a single from Lion Babe's 2013 eponymous EP.
