  • Although he started out on the Motown label, Lionel Richie is one of those artists who has always refused to be pigeonholed. Born at Tuskegee in the Deep South, he says he has always had country in his blood. This solo composition is as country as anyone gets. Running 4:35, it was released on the Motown label in 1987 as the B-side of "Ballerina Girl" and was co-produced with Narada Michael Walden. >>>

  • The country music group Alabama sang the harmony vocals on this song, giving instant credibility in that genre. The song made #10 on the US Country chart. In 2012, Richie released the album Tuskegee, where he recorded many of his classic songs with country stars like Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney and Willie Nelson. He did a revamped version of this tune with Little Big Town. The album topped the Country chart.
