  • Lita Ford wrote this in honor of her mom, who was dying of cancer. "'Lisa' is a magical song, written for so many people who have lost loved ones," she explained in an interview with Guitar Girl Magazine. "I wrote the song backstage at a W.A.S.P. concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, kinda weird, but it was a guitar part that came to me spur of the moment. I had to capture it ASAP before I forgot it. My mother would take it with her to chemotherapy every week, and play the video over and over until she drove the doctors and nurses crazy! She was proud and what a gift for her, and for me. The ultimate 'I love you.'" >>>

  • Lita remembered her mom in a Noisecreep interview: "My mom was my biggest fan. She never asked me where I went, or what I was doing, or who I was doing it with. She trusted me. My mom knew everybody. I remember she had a really thick Italian accent and she would say stuff like [puts on an Italian accent], 'Ah, that Alice Cooper. He's really nice. I like him a lot!'"

"She was awesome. We lived by the Long Beach Arena and everyone would come to my house after the shows to hang out. My mom had to be at work at 4:00 am, so she would leave at like 2:30 in the morning, just when I was coming home for the night. I would be reeking of cigarette smoke and alcohol and she wouldn't bug me about it. I was having such a great time back then. It was the '70s in Southern California. But yeah, mom was so open-minded about me and the stuff I was into."

  • George from Vancouver, CanadaHer Mom had to KNOW exactly what Lita was getting into -- the news was full of it. But obviously she trusted Lita to come to her if it started becoming too much. Being as Lita made a successful career, I'd say mama was fair in doing so. Obviously Lita felt loved & accepted, & as person needs that for square one of their life. Lita co9uld always find in herself memories of that time to go back to square one, when needed. I love odes to specific people.
