  • The track was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, who has also helmed tracks by Vampire Weekend, Haim and Brandon Flowers. He previously collaborated with Little Boots on "Satellite," a track from her 2013 album Nocturnes.
  • The song's music video was directed by the London-based art director and stylist Nova Dando. Little Boots said of the clip: "The song is about a walk of shame so I loved the idea of tying it in with the Working Girl album theme, that this girl can go out all night and still get to work on time looking chic hide her hangover and still smash the day!"

    "The idea for the video came from a kind of mash-up of Cher from Clueless' computerized wardrobe and those mix-and-match flip books I remember from being a kid. Combined with my ongoing obsession with gifs, shades of beige and dressing up like a yuppie, Nova was on completely on the same page as me."
  • Working Girl is a concept-driven album. Little Boots admitted to Spin that pulling all of the tracks together to tell a story proved difficult. "It's all over the place, but it's just reflective of me as a person," she said. "I had this idea for a character of the working girl, and a world revolving for her or around her or about her. Sometimes it was me, and sometimes it wasn't really, and I think maybe that got the songs to hang together production-wise. It's quite a big job really."

    This meant picking tracks from all the unreleased songs that Little Boots had been sitting on for years. "My drawer of songs must have about 500 songs in it. Ariel found 'Better in the Morning' in there and said, 'Oh you can't be left in the drawer. Fix that,'" she said. "I had to fight for it to get it to the right place."
