Songfacts®:

  • Here, Little Mix assert that they have just as much power in relationships as a man does:

You're the man, but I got the, I got the, I got the power
You make rain, but I'll make it, I'll make it, I'll make it shower
You should know, I'm the one who's in control
I'll let you come take the wheel, as long as you don't forget

The song has a similar empowering theme to the Get Weird track "Grown" where Jesy Nelson sung:

How about somebody let you know, my ride and I assume control
You should know, I’m the one who’s in control
  • Little Mix spoke about the importance of empowering women with their music during a 2015 interview with Wonderland Magazine. "Girl power is what we're about. It's what we stand for as a group. We want to do everything we can to make women feel better about themselves," said Leigh-Anne Pinnock. "We've had mums come up to us and literally thank us for making the music that we do, saying that since listening to Little Mix their daughters have been happier and more confident in themselves."
  • A different version was released as a single featuring additional vocals from British grime artist Stormzy. Some fans queried why the girls felt that a song about female empowerment needed input from a male artist. However, Stormzy appears happy to spread the feminist gospel, rapping "You can be a woman and a boss and wear the trousers at the same time."
  • The song's music video features Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock strutting their stuff near a hippie van, next to a row of motorcycles and on a city block. Jade Thirlwall, meanwhile, holds court outside a nightclub along with the Drag Race celebs, Alaska, Courtney Act, and Willam. Naturally, Stormzy turns up too.
