Songfacts®:

  • This Tommy Lee James, Terry McBride and Shane McAnally penned song was first recorded by country artist Easton Corbin for his 2012 studio album All Over the Road.

Two years later the Belgian DJ and producer Lost Frequencies took the music and the refrain from the song, sped up the track and released it as a deep house remix on October 27, 2014. His version reached the Top 10 in many other European countries, topping the charts in Austria, Belgium (Ultratop chart), Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
  • In our interview with Lost Frequencies, he explained how the track came together: "I was looking for a track to remix with a guitar vibe and driving bass and nothing else. I was looking for a long time and I never found it. And then when I'd stopped looking at some point, on Soundcloud I heard a really short demo of his album, and when I heard this track I said, 'Hey, this is the track I've been looking for.'

It has what I really wanted, so I bought the track and I did a remix of it and I posted it on Soundcloud. Then a label from the Netherlands saw it and liked it and had somebody else sing the new version with new guitars and stuff."

The label he signed with is Armada Music.
  • The song holds the distinction of having the shortest reign at #1 on the UK singles chart. It topped the listing that was published on Sunday, July 5, 2015. The following week's chart was the first to be released on a Friday rather than a Sunday, and when it was issued five days later, "Are You With Me" had been replaced at the summit by David Zowie's "House Every Weekend."
  • This won the prizes for Hit of The Year and Best International Dance Song at Germany's 2016 Echo Awards.
  • Lost Frequencies became the first Belgian artist to score a #1 UK hit when this track topped the British chart.
