Songfacts®:

  • The band's vocalist Ian Watkins was born in the Welsh town of Merthyr Tydfil and later moved to the nearby town of Pontypridd, where he attended Hawthorn High School with future Lostprophets guitarist Mike Lewis. The singer explained to Kerrang! magazine that he penned this song about his hometown. Said Watkins: "I wrote this on Mike's birthday after we'd been to the rugby. It's very nostalgic. I appreciate where I'm from and everything I did growing up. I don't want to get overly sentimental about it, but there's nowhere in my hometown where I don't have a memory."
