  • Louis Tomlinson wrote this mid-paced, reflective number with Kentucky singer-songwriter Jesse Thomas and English DJ BURNS (Britney Spears' "Make Me"). It was produced by the latter.
  • Lyrically the track tells fans that despite his fame, Louis is emotionally just the same as them.

    I'm just like you
Even though my problems look nothing like yours do
    I get sad, too
When I'm sad I need somebody to talk to.

Louis told the BBC. "Just Like You is all about this view of celebrities that we're impenetrable and almost not human, but fundamentally we all have the same problems."

"Heartbreak feels the same, loss feels the same, all these feelings are the same for all of us. Mine just look a load different to, maybe, Tom who works in the chippy from nine to five."
  • Louis explains during the song that being a successful pop artist isn't all wine and roses and there are drawbacks that go with the perks.

"The important thing to me was that, I've read a lot of press stories about myself and the press and everyone naturally puts this spin on fame and celebrity, and I kinda just wanted to show the other side of it," he told Zane Lowe in a Beats 1 interview. "I've kind of struggled with the concept of fame and it's hard for anyone to get your head around. It was important to me to write a song that could humanize me as much as possible and that the fans can really feel I'm just like them. Honest and vulnerable and real."
