Tell Me Why

Album: Too Late To Hate (2016)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • Running to around 4 minutes 4 seconds, "Tell Me Why" is Track 5 on the 2016 Too Late To Hate album. Co-written by lead vocalist John Lawton and lead guitarist Peter Hesslein, it was, Lawton told Songfacts, "Inspired by musicians I know who have and still are going through drug problems."

At a second or third listening not only does this become evident, but people who remember the 1970s and 80s will probably put a name or two in the frame. One name in particular would be Gary Thain, who played bass for Uriah Heep. He died from a heroin overdose on December 8, 1975; Lawton joined Uriah Heep the following year. >>>
