  • This tribute to dependable good ol' boys finds Luke Combs celebrating small successes. Among the everyday achievements he recounts are a baseball hit, a prom date, and getting the one phone call his jailed brother was allowed to make. "You should be able to say with confidence, 'I did that,'" Combs told Radio.com. "Maybe it's not winning the gold medal at the Olympics but I'm proud of it."
  • Combs believes there's nothing wrong with being proud of the little stuff. At school, he was delighted with getting a B grade as that was the best he could do. "I think my life has been a series of those kinds of things, before I started doing this," he told The Boot. "Things that I really tried hard at, but I just wasn't very good at. I'm still proud that I did them. I'm still proud at trying to be better at those things."
  • Eric Church joins in on the latter half of the track. Combs is a long-time fan of the "Some Of It" singer. In fact, Church's songs first got him into country music.
  • Combs and Church hail from the same state and share a similar mentality and approach to life. So when Combs sent Church the song, he hoped its sentiment and spirit would appeal to him. "I think, at the end of the day, we have a lot of the same values about music and touring," he told The Boot. "There were just a lot of things that lined up. So I really wanted him to like the song."
  • Luke Combs penned the song with his regular writing partner Ray Fulcher, and with Tyler Reeve (Brett Young's "In Case You Didn't Know").
  • Luke Combs, Ray Fulcher and Tyler Reeve penned the song back in 2016 before Combs signed with Sony Nashville. They thought at the time it sounded like an Eric Church song, but had no way to get in touch with him. By the time he recorded the track for What You See Is What You Get, Combs had access to any fellow artist he liked, so was able to make the connection.
