Songfacts®:

  • "Lovin' On You" is a '90s-influenced country-rocker where Luke Combs lists some of his favorite things: Brooks & Dunn, Miller Light, broken-in cowboy boots, birdie on a par 5. On the chorus, Combs declares that none of them give him the same rush as the lady in his life.
  • Luke Combs penned the song with his go-to writing partner Ray Fulcher, along with Thomas Archer (Combs "Hurricane") and James McNair (Kane Brown's "Hometown").
  • When Luke Combs made his Saturday Night Live debut on February 1, 2020, he selected "Lovin' on You" for his first performance. The country star also sang "Beer Never Broke My Heart" on the comedy show.
  • Luke Combs' college buddies, director Tyler Adams and producer Aaron Conner of TA Films, were responsible for the song's music video, which sees child versions of the singer and his wife Nicole at a roller rink birthday party. There's a neat twist at the end when the real-life Luke walks to the roller rink's ticket counter where the actual Nicole is working.

Adams and Conner have worked with Combs on many of his clips since being involved in his first visual in 2014 for "Let The Moonshine."
