Songfacts®:

  • The final track on her debut album, this song is about how Earth was visited by spacemen when humans were ape-like and worshiping the sun and moon. A common theme at the time ("Starman" by David Bowie, "Rocket Man" by Elton John), "Just Visiting" ends with the twist that now we've joined the ranks of travellers in outer space, and we might have that very same role for other developing civilisations. As well as clever lyrics, this song has subdued verses but a tremendously uplifting chorus and Lynsey's vocal is surprisingly strong. A great way to end a great album. >>>
