Songfacts®:

  • In this song, Madame Mayhem rails against everyone who is turning her into a monster, which includes those in the industry who tried to conform her to certain norms and frame her image. "It was insane, and I was getting so frustrated," she said in a Songfacts interview. "To be a musician and to do this and make it your life, you have to be so passionate about it, so to listen to other people telling you what to do is the silliest thing ever. I was so frustrated about it, so we wrote about it, and there it is."
  • Mayhem wrote this with Corey Lowery, who played on the track along with Billy Sheehan, Ray Luzier, and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. Sheehan, known for his work in Mr. Big, produced it.
  • The video, made by the team at Industrialism Films in Los Angeles, shows Mayhem in a strait jacket, kind of like Quiet Riot's "Metal Health," but without the mask.
