Songfacts®:

  • This is one of Madonna's softer, more emotional songs, and it seems to be about the birth of her child. The video shows her riding in a limousine being chased by photographers and arriving at a maternity ward to pick up her child. The video is shot in soft focus, possibly to satisfy fans' curiosity about the circumstances of her becoming a mother. >>>

  • Madonna wrote this song with a team of writers, including it's co-producer William Orbit, Rod McKuen, Anita Kerr and David Collins.
  • The paparazzi chase in the music video is reminiscent of Princess Diana's death during a frantic pursuit by media hounds on motorcycles a year earlier, a similarity not lost on some critics, who took Madonna to task. The singer, however, denied there was any connection to the Princess of Wales' untimely demise and said it was about her own relationship with fame.
