Songfacts®:

  • This ska track finds Madonna regretting nothing. She explained to Billboard magazine: "It's kind of like an extension of… at the beginning of my career, when all the pictures of me came out in Playboy and everybody expected me to cower in shame. And I just said "I'm not ashamed. I have nothing to hide, and I'm not sorry." So, it's my version of 'Je Ne Regrette Rien.'"
  • Madonna told Rolling Stone the song is about having fun. She explained it's like, "You think you're going to ruin my life and you think that it's over for me, but guess what? It's not. Life goes on."
  • This track was spawned from an idea that producer Diplo had for his group Major Lazer. "She (Madonna) did a dubplate for us," he told Digital Spy, "and I think 'Unapologetic Bitch' was a Major Lazer idea that we just wrote real quick and she loved it so it came out as one of her songs."
