Wash All Over Me

Album: Rebel Heart (2015)

Songfacts®:

  • This song started off as an Avicii produced EDM track, complete with '90s house piano and pulsating strings. It subsequently transformed into a piano ballad. Madonna started working with the Swedish electro producer very early on in the Rebel Heart process, but much of his input has since been de-Avicii-ed.
  • This is one of a quartet of Rebel Heart tracks that Kanye West helped produce. "It's really hard to describe Kanye in one sentence," Madonna told Complex. "He's a brilliant madman. He can't help himself. Like, he doesn't have the same filters other people have. He has to blurt things out – he's always saying inappropriate stuff. But he also has brilliant ideas."

"I feel like the music business needs him, because everyone's become so politically correct, so safe. I don't always agree with the things he says or does – I don't always like his music, even. But he's a beautiful mess. I love him."

  • Rabbit Bunny from Westminster MdDefiantly the best song off of Rebel Heart! Madonna is brilliant and the last of the great ones that we have and last of her kind and breed!
