Songfacts®:

  • The recording history of North London DJ/producer Majestic (real name Kevin Adam Christie) dates back to 2005 when he released his first single, "Kebab Riddim." This song, which he dropped on May 3, 2024, boasts a slightly different origin story.

"Set My Heart on Fire" started life as a viral Instagram video by Quebec DJ The Jammin Kid. Known for his "making artists meet" mashup series, The Jammin Kid blended Celine Dion's 2002 anthem "I'm Alive" with The Whispers' 1980 classic "And The Beat Goes On."

The video rocketed to nearly 10 million views, so with public demand high, The Jammin Kid released a full version on Soundcloud. However, copyright restrictions meant a proper streaming release remained elusive.

Enter Majestic. Spotting the video's potential, he reached out to The Jammin Kid, proposing a full-fledged collaboration. With Celine Dion's team on board, they transformed the viral mashup into a fresh, dance-floor-ready production.
  • "Set My Heart on Fire" retains the uplifting spirit of the original mashup, with Dion's soaring vocals layered over a pulsating, modern soundscape. The lyrics paint a picture of deep affection, highlighting how a loved one can ignite a spark of pure vitality.
  • When "Set My Heart on Fire" entered the UK Singles Chart in June 2024, it became Celine Dion's first UK Top 75 hit since "Loved Me Back To Life," which reached #9 in 2013.
