Songfacts®:

  • This upbeat rocker is the lead single from Mammoth WVH's second album, Mammoth II. It's about Wolfgang Van Halen finding hope and strength in the face of adversity.

"That song is kind of what kicked off the whole creative process for the album, considering it's kind this fast thrashy, almost punky song," Wolfgang Van Halen told Consequence. "It was a vibe that wasn't on the first album. It was really exciting to keep going and keep creating, and the solo was a really fun moment. So, by the time we got done recording everything, it was so clearly the first single that everybody just knew."
  • Directed by Gordy De St. Jeor, the music video is an 8:25 introduction to the Mammoth WVH live band. Continuing the saga from his "Don't Back Down" visual, Wolfgang takes center stage as he bids farewell to the other Wolfgangs from the previous clip and introduces his live band, featuring the talents of Frank Sidoris (guitars), Jon Jourdan (guitars), Ronnie Ficarro (bass), and Garrett Whitlock (drums).
  • Wolfgang Van Halen recorded Mammoth II at Los Angeles' legendary 5150 Studios, which was built by his dad, Eddie Van Halen. His friend and collaborator Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Trivium, Alter Bridge, Slash) served as producer. They first worked together when Baskette produced and Van Halen played bass on Tremonti's first two albums, All I Was and Cauterize.
  • Wolfgang Van Halen played all the instruments on Mammoth II, as he did on his first album, Mammoth WVH.
