Songfacts®:

  • In this song, Wolfgang Van Halen (the namesake of Mammoth WVH) takes aim at someone who's been bringing him down, singing, "I will erase you."

In a Songfacts interview, Wolfgang said: "When I write my lyrics, while they mostly come from personal experiences, I like to write them from a perspective that anybody can insert themselves into and get their own meaning from it. I tend to write my lyrics as this amalgamation of everyone who has ever done me wrong, and I think that really shows in that song. While it may not be specifically about anyone, it's about everyone who has ever hurt me."
  • Wolfgang, the son of Eddie Van Halen, played every instrument and did every vocal on the Mammoth WVH album, his debut. He recorded it at his dad's studio, 5150, where Van Halen did their dirty work. Wolfgang became a member of Van Halen in 2007, taking over on bass for Michael Anthony. He played on their last album, A Different Kind Of Truth, released in 2012.
