  • Becker told CCM Top 100 Greatest Songs In Christian Music how this song came about: "I wanted to write a song about protecting the sanctity of Jesus in our culture. I wrote for weeks on this song, but no matter how I tried, it seemed too dense. (Becker's producer) Charlie Peacock had just bought the Art House, where he now lives, and it was still a church setting. One evening, I sat by the sanctuary window in an old wooden chair and prayed, 'Lord, fill me with the ability to communicate the magnificence of Your name, as it has been spoken in this structure - this simple house of worship - for years.' It wasn't immediate, but shortly after that, I found my entrance into the final song. I realized that instead of trying to explain my concept, I should just do it. 'Say The Name' became a demonstration of how to illustrate the beauty and the power of Jesus by describing all its wonderful benefits. I did that by remembering all the things I could attribute to it in my own life. I purposefully held back the actual utterance of it until the bridge - late in the song, as an example of my respect."

  • Mike from Norwalk, CtI would love to see an entry about "Look Me In The Eye", perhaps one of her best songs ever. She has the distinction of releasing my favorite album of all time "Grace" in 1995.
