Songfacts®:

  • All American Made is the second studio album by the Nashville-based Margo Price. This song about the American experience is the title track and one of six songs co-written by the singer's husband and band member Jeremy Ivey. The couple has a long history of working together - including jointly forming the band Buffalo Clover before Price began her solo career
  • Price and Ivey originally wrote this song in a local coffee shop, when Barack Obama was president, splitting up the verses. The song was recorded in three takes one night a few years later layering in sound clips from the likes of Presidents Nixon and Clinton inspired by Simon & Garfunkel's version of "Silent Night."

"I remember, as a kid, getting stoned and putting on headphones and listening to that," Ivey told American Songwriter. "It's such a great statement, of how something so violent can be so peaceful."
