Songfacts®:

  • This was co-written by country singer Caitlin Rose, a longtime friend of Price's. They penned the tune after a long evening on the singer's front porch. Rose recalled to Uncut:

"One night we were hanging out and playing music after the bars had closed, and we realized we'd killed the handle of whatever we'd been drinking. Margo said something along the lines of, 'Boy, we sure put a hurtin' on that bottle.' Me being the natural-born buzzkill that I am, I decided that we should write that song right now instead of going to get more beer."
