Songfacts®:

  • This gently rolling electronic cut features the voice of Radiohead's Thom Yorke. The song is the first collaboration between the pair though Pritchard previously remixed Radiohead's King of Limbs track, "Bloom."
  • Pritchard said: "The original instrumental to 'Beautiful People' is a personal song about loss, hopelessness and chaos, but ultimately the message is love and hope. Thom's contribution to this collaboration captured perfectly what the piece is about. I will be forever grateful to have worked with such an immense talent."
  • Mark Pritchard told Uncut June 2016 the story of the song. "I wrote that the morning I heard two friends had passed away, around six years ago. It was always going to be on the album. Radiohead had asked me to remix a song from The King Of Limbs, and then we met when they were in Sydney, and I sat down next to Thom at dinner. I asked him if he would be up for doing something and he said, 'Yeah, I'll do whatever you want.' I sent him four tracks and he sent me back two ideas, one for 'Beautiful People.' I'd told him what the song means and to take from that what he wants."
