Songfacts®:

  • The Marmozets comprises two sets of siblings and the lead single from their Knowing What You Know Now album features a contribution from Becca, Sam and Josh Macintyre's baby sister. Vocalist Becca Macintyre explained to Kerrang:

"We're obviously very family-orientated and this started with a sample of our little sister saying, 'One, two, three, play'. I sang over it with lyrics I already had knocking around. The words just wouldn't leave me alone after I've been on holiday in LA with my ex, and he split up with me. But it was kind of pieced together.

Sometimes I sit down with my notebook and even I don't know where lyrics come from - I just let them flow. There's no crazy story behind this, it just seemed to fit perfectly as a great first song for coming back!"
  • The Knowing What You Know Now album title came from the band's manager. Guitarist Jack Bottomley told HMV.com: "He came up to see us in Bingley and we were out in a bar. He came out with the phrase."

Becca Macintyre added: "It is what the album is. It's a great statement, it makes you think and it looks great on posters and T-shirts."
