Songfacts®:

  • This song features vocals by South African-Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan. Martin Garrix said of working with Sivan on the track: "I've been so fortunate to work with such an incredible artist like Troye on this record. I've been a fan for ages and he had an idea for this record, sent it over and the rest is history. He's a true artist and on top of that, a good friend. So excited to share with you guys the result of our hard work."
  • Sivan talks about supporting and sticking by a friends' side through thick and thin. The singer explained on Twitter that the song is dedicated to his fans and addresses his relationship with them.

"Not to be over dramatic but this song is in my eyes about you guys. You guys have been there, every step of the way. Got me through last year which was a crazy one."
  • That's Martin Garrix himself playing guitar on the bridge. "I recorded that myself on the guitar," he told The Independent. "But a lot of people think, 'oh it's made with a computer, this is not real music,' even though all the artists they love, all that gets put through a computer and still sounds good afterwards."
  • The song was premiered live during Martin Garrix's set at Coachella on April 22, 2017. "Me and Troye were in the studio, we had the rough idea for a song and two days later we premiered it at Coachella! He didn't even plan on going to the festival," Garrix laughed to The Independent. "I can't work with someone if I don't connect with them."
  • The docu-style video was shot in San Francisco, California by Taylor Cut Films (Usher, Ciara). It shows Garrix and Sivan hard at work in the studio leading up to their performance of the song at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
