Songfacts®:

  • "My Brother" is a tribute song. The original lineup of Wishbone Ash featured two Turners: Martin on bass, and Ted on lead guitar. The two men are unrelated, David (Ted) Turner hails from Birmingham while Martin, who was born in Torquay on October 1, 1947, formed The Torinoes in November 1963, the band which eventually became Wishbone Ash. Martin's brother Glenn was a co-founder of The Torinoes, while another Turner brother, Kim, also went into the music business, and was at one time road manager for The Police.

Kim Turner was some nine years younger than his famous brother, but died young. As Turner related to a fan in August 2008, "I feel he keeps an eye on me still, he knew the rock 'n' roll biz very well and was much loved by many." >>>
