Songfacts®:

  • This powerful Sarah Buxton, Cary Barlowe and Sam Ellis penned track finds Martina McBride singing of "a break in the clouds" during a rough time.

    Just around the corner
    The sun's a little warmer
    The storm is blowing over
    It's finally over

McBride told The Boot: "I love 'Just Around the Corner' because it's so hopeful, and I think relatable for everybody."
  • The song was chosen to be an anthem for the Band Against Cancer movement. The storyline of the video, which was filmed in Nashville, and directed by Matthew Underwood, reflects this. "We all know someone going through a difficult time, especially so many of our friends in the community who are diagnosed with cancer," McBride said. "And, having the strength and faith to know that there are better days just around the corner, is such an important message for us to share with everyone fighting this brave battle."

McBride has long been an advocate in fighting for cancer awareness. In 2011 she released the poignant single "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," about a married 38-year-old mother who learns that she has cancer.
