Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from the first Masters of Reality album, which was produced by Rick Rubin. Written by lead singer Chris Goss and guitarist Tim Harrington, the song's lyrics are rather cryptic and never mention a blue garden. When we asked Goss to explain, he didn't want to say much about the lyric, but did disclose that he was very much into numerology at the time, and was obsessed with the planet Mercury and the number 8.
  • Chris Goss started writing this song a few years before it was recorded. He used a synthesizer called an ARP String Ensemble on the track, which generated the string sounds you hear.
