  • Cardle teamed up with Melanie C of the Spice Girls for this song. "I met Melanie at the Isle of Wight Festival last year," he said. "I'm a big fan and I've always loved her voice. I had already started writing 'Loving You' and I thought with a few changes it could work perfectly as a duet." The song got its radio premiere on Ken Bruce's BBC Radio 2 show on July 2, 2013 and was made available to download on August 18th.
  • The song features Cardle on guitar and drums. He also co-produced the track with British singer-songwriter Jamie Scott, (Enrique Iglesias' "Heartbeat," Michael Kiwanuka's "Home Again") and Toby Smith, who is most famous for being the keyboardist and co-songwriter for Jamiroquai from 1992 up to 2002.
  • The song's music video finds the two singers getting steamy on a bed. Mel C revealed to the Daily Mirror that the pair secretly practiced their smooch in private before getting in front of cameras. "As they were setting up this particular scene, Matt and I were chatting and I told him I'd never done this before. He was like 'OK, that's cool', and then went off to get changed next door," she recalled.

"Suddenly, I heard him shouting at me to come in. I thought 'Oh, s--t, I've done something wrong.' "Anyway, he turned to me and said: 'I'm not being funny but it's really weird kissing someone for the first time in front of a room full of people. So, er, do you mind if we practice first?'"

Mel said that she didn't mind at all.
  • The song was Mel C's first UK singles Top 20 chart appearance since 2005 when "Next Best Superstar" was a Top 10 hit.
