Cardle teamed up with Melanie C of the Spice Girls for this song. "I met Melanie at the Isle of Wight Festival last year," he said. "I'm a big fan and I've always loved her voice. I had already started writing 'Loving You' and I thought with a few changes it could work perfectly as a duet." The song got its radio premiere on Ken Bruce's BBC Radio 2 show on July 2, 2013 and was made available to download on August 18th.
The song features Cardle on guitar and drums. He also co-produced the track with British singer-songwriter Jamie Scott, (Enrique Iglesias' "Heartbeat," Michael Kiwanuka's "Home Again") and Toby Smith, who is most famous for being the keyboardist and co-songwriter for Jamiroquai from 1992 up to 2002.
The song's music video finds the two singers getting steamy on a bed. Mel C revealed to the Daily Mirror that the pair secretly practiced their smooch in private before getting in front of cameras. "As they were setting up this particular scene, Matt and I were chatting and I told him I'd never done this before. He was like 'OK, that's cool', and then went off to get changed next door," she recalled.

"Suddenly, I heard him shouting at me to come in. I thought 'Oh, s--t, I've done something wrong.' "Anyway, he turned to me and said: 'I'm not being funny but it's really weird kissing someone for the first time in front of a room full of people. So, er, do you mind if we practice first?'"

Mel said that she didn't mind at all.
The song was Mel C's first UK singles Top 20 chart appearance since 2005 when "Next Best Superstar" was a Top 10 hit.
