Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from The Story of Your Life, the fourth full-length studio album by CCM artist Matthew West. The singer/songwriter turned to his fans via web and radio for songwriting material for the record, asking them to submit their stories of restoration, celebration, pain, hope and more. Thousands answered from across the world. West then spent two months in a cabin outside of Nashville, Tennessee reading every story and then transforming them into songs for the record. "As stories began to pour in by the thousands, I quickly sensed that not only was something special taking place, but that my life was about to change," he explained. "During those months, my eyes were opened to see the world outside my door like I had never witnessed before."
  • This song reflects on how the countless stories that he read changed West. "I look at the world in a different way," he explained. "The words of 'My Little World' are how this process has changed me. It's not about me and the irony of this record is that I've never been so excited about a record - and it's not about me. I'm the singer and the messenger and I connect with these songs, and it fires me up."

  • Mike from Norwalk, CtThis song makes me think of how being a Christian should really be. We are so comfortable in church and with our friends and family we forget what true Christianity is all about. Its beyond our own little world.
