Songfacts®:

  • "I am That" is a direct reference to an ancient prayer in the Vedas, some of the oldest and most sacred works in the Hindu religious tradition. MC Yogi, who is a practicing yogi and Bodhisattva, bases most of his music on these same traditions.

Yogi told Songfacts, "'I am that' is a type of mantra to acknowledge that I am not separate and disconnected from nature, the sun, the stars, the moon, the oceans, the sky, the hills, the creeks, the rivers, the streams, I am one with all of that and all of that is inside of me and I am inside of it."
  • Trevor Hall, who later appeared on Yogi's track, "Road Home."
