Songfacts®:

  • Meat Puppets lead singer and principal songwriter Curt Kirkwood told us that a lot of times when demoing a song he'll come with a melody over a chord change, before bringing it into the studio. However, in the instance of the Rat Farm album, there were a number of tracks, including this one, where the vocal melodies weren't done until the band got into the studio. He explained: "I had these working titles, just what they reminded me of. So the song 'Sweet' doesn't have anything to do with the title. I just kept the working title. But I had to come up with the melody right there on that one."
