Songfacts®:

  • Meghan Trainor reunites here with Kevin Kadish, the producer of most of the songs on her debut album Title. She recalled: "This song was fun, I did it with Kevin Kadish who wrote 'All About That Bass' with me and a bunch of songs on my first album and we had a lot of fun doing this one. We danced the entire time and we wanted to actually make up a dance."
  • Trainor explained the background to the tune: "This song is for my dad GT, what's up Gary, I miss you. This song was inspired by my music video for 'Better When I'm Dancin'.' I have my father in it, dancing like a fool. He killed it. It's everyone's favorite part and I knew right away for this album I have my mom song, I have my thank you song to my fans and I needed a dad song - I had to do it. "
