Songfacts®:

  • This ode to self-love finds Meghan Trainor celebrating both her abilities and body with unabashed confidence.

Who's that sexy thang I see over there?
That's me, standin' in the mirror

She described it in track-by-track as a "self-love anthem about loving yourself and of course 'if I was you I'd wanna be me too.' How confident is that - come on people! I wanaa make a club banger and I say this is my club banger."
  • The ego-stroking song was co-written by Jason Derulo. Meghan Trainor was previously a vocalist on DeRulo's Everything is 4 track, "Painkiller."
  • The song's music video was released on May 9, 2016, but was removed by Trainor the same day, following claims that the singer had been digitally altered in the clip. "My waist is not that teeny," the singer later said in a Snapchat video to her fans. "I had a bomb waist that night, I don't know why they didn't like my waist. But I didn't approve that video and it went out to the world. So I'm embarrassed." The following day, a new edit of the video was released.

Trainor previously made reference to photo editing in her hit single "All About That Bass" when she sung: "I see the magazines working that Photoshop, we know that ain't real, come on now make it stop."
  • The song was used to soundtrack PetSmart's 2017 "Runway" TV commercial.
