  • July 26, 1943
  • Jagger wrote an autobiography in the '80s, but it was canceled, with the publisher complaining, "No sex. No rock 'n' roll. It's just boring stuff about his ordinary parents, and his ordinary upbringing."
  • His stage moves are so famous, Maroon five wrote a song about them. Jagger's signature strut and preening got a lot more pronounced after The Rolling Stones shared a bill with James Brown in 1964 on the T.A.M.I. Show.
  • His first solo gig was at Live Aid, where he played the Philadelphia stage in 1985. He got some high-profile help, bringing out Tina Turner as a guest.
  • He's was married just once - to Bianca Jagger in the '70s - but has eight children with five different women. His oldest daughter, Jade (born 1971), is his only child with Bianca.
  • In the mid-'80s, he had a falling out with Keith Richards and launched a solo career, issuing his first album, She's The Boss, in 1985. He never quit the band, but refused to tour behind their 1986 Dirty Work album, choosing to work on his next solo album, Primitive Cool (1987) instead. The Stones returned to action in 1989 with an album and tour.
  • When he formed The Rolling Stones in 1962, he was a student at the London School of Economics. He stayed enrolled until 1963, when he was pretty sure it would work out for the band; he dropped out of school with a letter that read, "I have been offered a really excellent opportunity in the entertainment world."
