Songfacts®:

  • The woozy second single from Kaleidoscope Dream finds Miguel overdosing on love as he sings, "I'm gonna do you like drugs." The song was crafted by Jerry Wonda and the R&B crooner told The Boombox that Wonda's instrumentation marked an "architect" at work. He added: "The moment I heard the music, it inspired me to ask the question."
  • This is one of a number of songs on Kaleidoscope Dream that find Miguel trying to stretch the R&B format. "I want to change urban radio," he told Billboard magazine. "I want to change the sound of what's expected from R&B songs on the radio, and I really intend on doing that."
  • Asked by The Guardian what made he come out with such an upfront question, Miguel replied: "I have this propensity to just come out and say things. That's how I am in real life. If I wanna know something I just ask. Like, 'Hey, do you like drugs?' Because I do! Sometimes!"
