  • Here, Mimi Webb struggles to come to terms with the loss of her ex following a less-than-amicable split.

But every time the lights go out
I see you there when you're not around
    Stuck in my head
    And I know you're gone
But I still hold onto the ghost of you

Webb broke up with her boyfriend in the summer of 2022 after over a year together. "It was about taking this sad experience and a difficult time and turning it into a really upbeat, moving-on song," she told The Sun.
  • As Webb busied herself with day-to-day life, she got over her former lover.

    Mornin' turns to evenin'
Haven't even thought about you leavin'
Swear to God, I almost got this feelin' off my mind

"There's some real empowerment behind it," she told The Sun, "and it's about going, 'There's nothing I can do about it, it's done, and all I know is that the universe has the best interests at heart for me and I have to go with it.'"
  • Webb wrote "Ghost Of You" with Christopher Smith, Morten "Rissi" Ristorp, Nolan Sipe, Phil Plested, Tia Tia, and the track's producer Stuart Price. English producer Stuart Price has also worked with Madonna, The Killers, Dua Lipa and George Ezra.
  • Mimi Webb wrote the song as encouragement to carry on living her life and ignore the ghost of her ex. "It's about self-love, finding your own happiness and the happiness that's within you," she told the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column. "I know the best thing I can do is soak up life now, and have my time - my career is my life."

"I've learnt that you have to put yourself first and what you need first. It can be easy to forget that because you want to be with someone," Webb added. "I'm in a place where I'm like, "Why should I care when that person doesn't care?"
