This song was the second single from Modest Mouse's 2007 album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. It peaked at #24 on Billboard's Hot Modern Rocks chart. The album was the first that Modest Mouse released with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr in the band.
James Mercer from The Shins sings backup vocals on this song.
In 2007, Modest Mouse teamed up with Apple Inc. to ask fans to make their own videos for this song. The winning video was created by a team called Walter Robot and featured a robot who was directing himself in a video about a robot who runs away from home. Christopher Mills, who also directed the band's "Float On" video, directed the green screen sequences for the finished version.
This song appeared at the end of an episode of Scrubs called "My Waste of Time."
In May 2007, Modest Mouse performed this song on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
