  • Jack The Ripper was a notorious British serial killer who murdered and butchered prostitutes in the 1880s. He was never caught and his identity was never determined.
  • Morrissey wrote this song with his guitarist Boz Boorer. The song seems to be a dialogue between Jack The Ripper and one of his victims.
  • Morrissey never recorded this song, but he did play it in concert and included live cuts on various compilation album. The song was first released on the B-side to Morrissey's single "Certain People I Know."
  • My Chemical Romance played this at some of their concerts and released their live version on the "Thank You For The Venom" single.
