Songfacts®:

  • The follow-up to Mr. Big's megahit "To Be With You," this is a very personal song written by lead singer Eric Martin with help from his songwriting partner Andre Pessis. In our interview with Martin, he explained: "'Just Take My Heart' is about me and my first wife. Stacey was her name. Just laying there in bed the night before both of us are going to go our separate ways. You could hear a pin drop, that's how quiet it was. She was leaving me for another man."

Martin says that every line in the lyrics reflects what he was feeling that night.
  • The black-and-white video was directed by Nancy Bennett, who did most of the band's videos from this era.
