  • This was the first single released by Mr. Hudson (aka English singer-songwriter Ben Hudson) on Kanye West's Good Music label. Hudson had previously contributed to West's 2008 808's & Heartbreak album.
  • Kanye West co-wrote this song. Mr. Hudson (aka English singer-songwriter Ben Hudson) told MTV News that one day, West came into the studio and announced he had a "gift" for him. West then proceeded to play to Hudson the chorus of this tune. The duo then completed the song together. Hudson explained: "It's a co-write. I think our head space, we kinda overlapped with similar emotions about things when we were hanging out last summer. I think we both could relate to the lyrics, so we built it together. Kanye brought in the chorus. We brought the verses up together."
  • The song's music video was shot in the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills. West and Hudson found themselves beginning to overlap in some of their emotions from working so closely on this track and the duo wanted the promo to reflect that common bond. Hudson told MTV News: "I think it was really important that we weren't Simon & Garfunkel or two [members] of 'NSYNC, like a boy band singing together to camera. It's more like we're two guys that happen to be in a hotel, but maybe the link is like shared headspace, the emotion of what we're going through."
