Songfacts®:

  • MS MR are a New York-based duo consisting of vocalist Lizzy Plapinger and producer Max Hershenow. This is the lead single from their second album, How Does It Feel.

Hershenow told Artist Direct the story of the song: "We started writing in Manchester in the UK and it was the first foray back into writing after being on the road for two years," he said. "Lizzy started the chorus and verse and sent it to me, with a couple of references that felt it was like a step out of the MS MR sound. It's like it announced the new era of the band and laid the foundation for everything else we wrote."

Plapinger added: "When we started, it came from a dark place in my life. I was feeling a little lost."
